Edward W. Munger, born in Albany, New York, started playing piano at age 5 and by 11 he was playing guitar. Ed studied Mel Bay's Guitar Method, Volumes l-Vll and studied at the Berklee School of Music in Boston, undertaking a professional concentration on arrangement in musical composition.
He’s published several musical compositions and books of guitar music, including Jigs & Reels For Classical Guitar, from Mel Bay Publishing.
A Master’s Instruction student of famed guitarist Jorge Morel in New York City, Ed served as adjunct faculty at the College of St. Rose, Albany, N.Y., teaching Classic Guitar.
Ed shared his expertise as Jazz Guitar instructor at Union College in Schenectady, NY and taught Blues Guitar at Empire College in Saratoga. He’s performed at the Saratoga Performing Arts Center, Proctors Theater, Schenectady; and Colonie Stardust Theatre, Albany, NY.
Ed is director of Ed Munger Music Studio where he continues to teach guitar and voice to students at all levels, beginner to expert.
